Period app for 11 year old

Any recommendations on a period app that would be suitable for an 11 year old. Dd has just started her period and was looking something to track them as I know they can be all over the place for a while.

My DD has used flo since 11 and thinks it's great

Mrsttcno1 · 14/01/2025 20:21

If she has an iphone or if you have a family ipad or any apple device she has access to really you can track them on the Health app on there

Minnie123456 · 14/01/2025 20:44

@xmasdealhunter is there a way to turn off the secret chats as some of them are very explicit?

@Mrsttcno1 she got an ipad for Christmas, so I'll look into that, thanks!

Yep, this article explains pretty well but if you set her birthday as under 18 the explicit topics won't appear, and you can block specific topics too What is Flo Secret Chats? – Flo

I've been writing my DD's ones my calendar on my phone - she tells me when she's on her period and that's how we track it. She was only 10 though so quite young when she started - 4yrs later still using calendar.

Nomoreitsnothappening · 14/01/2025 20:52

Dd uses period calendar- she likes the graphs and predictions.

Minnie123456 · 14/01/2025 20:56

@xmasdealhunter thank you, didn't know you could do that.

@CluelessAsFuck aww 10, I'm finding it hard that dd has started now lol. I don't know if she would tell me when it starts/finshes as she tends to forget things alot lol.

I use Euki as the data is stored locally on my phone and is therefore private, rather than being stored on someone's central server and being owned by a private company

eurochick · 14/01/2025 22:29

I've used Clue for years but the incessant attempts to get me to pay to subscribe have become so annoying I'm moving away from it and using the Apple health app.

Yeah 10 was a bit too early for my liking! DD tells me as she knows I write it in calendar and make sure she tops up the supplies in her schoolbag and locker. I just keep a variety of pads - she just picks whatever she needs.

Dd 12 uses the Luna app (We are Luna). It's a British based app and says it's designed by medical professionals, experts and uk teens. She really likes it. She really likes the journaling section in particular.

pizzaHeart · 15/01/2025 16:43

My DD uses simple free Period Tracker since the very beginning, I just googled “free period tracker”, there are no any chats or whatever.

This is really, really important given how Women's fertility is being policed in the US.

Minnie123456 · 19/01/2025 10:56

Thanks everyone, I'll look into these.

Absolutely. I’d not be uploading my personal menstruating data anywhere to any company

WokeMarxistPope · 19/05/2025 14:22

I will give my daughter a small paper calendar. Many apps sell your period data so your advertising targets your cycle stage because on certain days you are more receptive to certain products. Plus there's the concern about police going through it that I've read about on MN only this morning.

downloaded luna for dd (14) too last year and she genuinely enjoys it, her favourite is the anonymous asking part x

WildestDreamer · 22/05/2025 07:19

Dd uses Luna.

WildestDreamer · 22/05/2025 07:19

Dd uses Luna.

DD (14) also uses luna, and she also tracks her emotions, skin, sleep too on it, and can read articles too - really good

thismummydrinksgin · 22/05/2025 16:02

My DD uses the Apple health app, it’s not great at predicting her next one but guess that’s because she’s still settling .

pinkmamalama · 23/05/2025 19:48

I think that's normal can take 4 years for it to settle! mine is very anxious about when the next one is coming, checked search history looking for period calculator,.

MumzillaReturns · 23/05/2025 19:53

Hi, would you mind Can you share which one please there are 10 Luna's on the app store? x

HaveYouAskedMum · 14/10/2025 18:27

Are you guys still using Luna App for your DDs? I was using Flo myself but there's just too much "adult" content in there and chatgpt suggested luna as well
