DS9 Behaviour...

Looking for some reassurance that I'm not the only one experiencing this sort of behaviour from their 9yr ds! Confused

He has been getting increasingly silly and rude. Winding up younger brother (who is 6), keeps bickering with him over ridiculous things (e.g. how to pronounce salt), won't stop when asked and then when told off will stomp his feet, start calling out silly words to get a reaction from us.

After time to calm down he is apologetic etc. But it's only a matter of time before it starts again!

Does this sound similar to anyone else?

Yes, he sounds normal !
Does he have his own bedroom ?
He needs lots of sport to tire him out.

Phew!

Yes he has his own room, but doesn't like to be in it. Maybe we can have a think about redecorating it so he likes it more - it would definitely help if he was more happy to have some time away from his brother in there!

He and his Dad are going to start going running again soon and he loves his bike so will be taking him out today on it to make the most of the sunshine!

He's not really into other sports...but I agree, that would probably help! He's definitely got excess energy!

Thanks for the reassurance Smile

Going to high school can help too. Sometimes they out-grow primary school early.

And yes, perhaps a grown up bedroom. If he designs it he might stay in it longer. He’ll soon become a grumpy teenager who won’t get out of bed !
