Does anyone use these? What brands do you recommend? DD not started periods yet I am just interested if they work?

@adagio What we tried was very similar, Modibodi included, so IMO not so much better then other ones. But there's a big difference in period pants, all of these have a waterproof layer but many has not the absorbent layer (that I prefer, as I wrote in my previous post above). Honestly I would be paranoid trusting only the absorbent layer without adding a pad, too little absorbency, and about odor (especially after few hours, I smelled it). And too high different price 25 vs 5£ (Modibodi Seamfree Full Brief vs Yoyi Fashion Jacquard). We use these just as backup against leaks, for a total peace of mind since even bigger overnight pads occasionally could still leak.
Waterproof layer I think varies a little, like someone is just similar to spandex (not totally waterproof, just water-resistant), someone is like thin plastic film (totally waterproof). Anyway this layer is not really sweaty. Maybe a minimal sweaty in a warm summer day, it's acceptable.
The ones I tried don't shrink, someone becomes a little more loose after many washes.
Tight and dig depends on the size you buy, if you find the right one everything is good. They are very similar to regular pants from this point of view.

Yes, my DD who started her periods last year aged 10 loves her period pants. I find them better than anything else for the tween age group.

We've bought several different varieties and been very happy with them: Flux, Wuka, Cheeky Wipes and some unbranded ones on Amazon (actually after 6 months of use the unbranded ones can leak a bit so maybe not as good as the other three).

Often one pair will last for the full school day but DD carries a spare pair in her school bag and changes if she needs to.

I also bought DD some swimming period bikini pants by Ruby Love. She tested them in the bath and then wore them to go swimming with friends. While she's tried tampons successfully, I could see that it was stressful and a bit of a faff for her. I was also worried about her accidentally leaving them in too long - she's still just a kid and it could easily happen.

Personally, I don't like pants or pads and will be sticking to my mooncups, but I definitely recommend them for this age group.

Neither of us have heavy periods so I can't comment on how good they are for people who have to change pads or tampons every hour or so.

Since place marking DD has started and she's had a long and very heavy period. I think she's going to be like me, poor girl.

I've bought her 2 pairs of the Modibodi to try and she loves them.

I think I need to buy some more, including the nighttime ones.

Can't recommend modibodi enough for the pants and swimwear. DD has been wearing them for two years since she was 10 - she wears a liner in them for extra security. Used the swimwear a few times in the summer when she went on a huge inflatable on the lakes - literally life changing

I wanted to try some for ages so bought some in the sale when they were £15 each at modibodi. I usually have to wear a super plus tampon and a night time pad together.

As I'm working from home I thought I'd go all in and test them on my heaviest day. They've been amazing! No leaks, comfy and they don't seem to smell by the end of the day as I feared.

I have the moderate/ heavy flow and overnight ones. Have shoved them straight in the wash (after rinsing) as I didn't like the idea of them hanging around. Probably need a better system.
