Deodorant for kids who don't want deodorant?

I have a tween who smells :(
I've been trying to encourage anti-perspirant use (as well as washing/soap!) but apparently it stings. Also it's cold and wet (suspected sensory processing issues). Are there any less stingy/wet options? Have tried the teen-type aluminum-free roll ons (x2) and my own Mitchum roll on.

dove original (the stick kind, not the wet stuff) and it smells luvverly

Sure tends to be drier.

my sensory ds - was sort of ok with the salt rock - (but it broke off the setting which freaked him out) couldnt cope with any roll on but has been ok with teh salt spray - which seems amazingly effective ..he's now 15 and it still seems to keep the whiffs at bay... dear but lasts for ages.....
on interim times/days he uses wipes (primark mens....were good for camping/scouts/after PE)

I rate Biosense, I have very sensitive skin

Rachelover60 · 06/10/2019 19:10

I started mine off on Natrelle, at least I think it was called that. There was a TV advert for it where people in camouflage leaned against trees :-). It worked well but I don't think it is still being produced.

Sanex 0% Sensitive is good, won't sting.

Just to add a bit of context - I have sensory issues and dove has been my go to because - it's not cold, just the right temperature. Doesn't feel wet or dry. You can't feel anything after you put it on. It's not overwhelming, just smells clean. it's not the cream one (which I hate), it's this one:

Lush solid deodorants, they look like bars of soap and come in different scents.

Trust off amazon or Superdrug. It's a cream, you use a tiny tiny but and it stops the odour for a week, lasts through baths, showers etc

We had the same issue with DS - he generally has no sensory issues at all, but all the deodorants we tried made him itch furiously for hours. Finally tried a stick one rather than a roll on, and it's finally worked. It's just a normal brand (can't remember exactly, either Dove or Nivea I think), so maybe try one of those before you resort to the expensive specialist ones.

Nuud - it's just a thick white cream you rub on (deodorant not anti perspirant) and it's really effective - only needs reapplying once or twice a week.

I get an amazing deo called 'Fit Pit' from my local zero waste shop. It comes in a glass jar and is like a paste that you wipe on with your fingers. The heat of your body makes it dissolve instantly. It's really effective too, and no nasties - all natural.

Just looked at my jar and they have a website www.thegreenwoman.co.uk. I know it looks quite pricey but a jar lasts ages.
