Make up suggestions

My dd (10) has started to ask about make up. She's previously been quite boyish (plays footie, hair cut short, wears t-shirt & leggings to the school disco type of girl), but has asked for some make up for her 11th birthday so that she can try it out before secondary school.

What make up brands/you tubers/online tutorials etc would be suitable for a 10/11 year old who wants to experiment with some make up?

She's not online a lot but has watched some of Nikki Lily's YouTube videos. She came to that after watching old episodes of junior bake off and liking Nikki. My dd has a disability (medical condition). Her condition is not like Nikki's but I think Nikki's positivity is something my dd likes. So I was thinking if I could find some safe and reasonable teen beauty youtubers, with positive body image messages iyswim.

When I was younger we read teen magazines that had make up tips etc, so just wanting to find something simple but fun. I wear make up maybe once a fortnight at most, so we're not massively make up oriented.

Also, I've explained that secondary school will have rules regarding wearing make up at school!! Smile

I think that fella James Charles is always a person who spreads positivity, while also doing makeup

Essence stuff is very good. Reasonably priced and very fashion focused. Think would appeal to young girls. I use some myself even though not young- it’s good quality. They have a new tinted day cream out which I was impressed by. Their eye shadow pallets are good too. They also do some nice lip glasses which might be better than the heavy Matt lipsticks most ranges do atm. You can get it in Wilkos

Time to start hiding your make-up bag! DD recently used up all my rather pricey Dior concealer - plastered it everywhere several times, I barely ever buy makeup so was pretty annoyed! She's 12.

Anyway, isn't Superdrug the haven for young teens who just want to experiment? I also got DD some makeup brushes online and some bits and pieces from Zara - reasonably priced. DD also used her pocket money to buy an eyeshadow palette online it's massive & she's enjoying it & getting her money's worth - James Charles.
