How clean is your child's room?

I am distracted today from my usual cheery good morning greeting when I wake DD up, by expensive school uniform and a cotton bud used for make up discarded on the bedroom floor. I feel cross instead of love. Now having reprimanded her, I feel guilty. Kids these days are so busy they don't have time to simply "be". However, life only gets busier. Old habits die hard and I don't want to be accused in later life of not teaching her better ones! AIBU to want her to keep her room tidy and treat her possessions with respect? Is wanting a tidy home when you have kids still socially acceptable or is it more a compulsive disorder?

Nope I struggle with my daughter being uber messy but this has then resulted in her being unorganised now I make sure that the basics are done to help her get organised

DD is 13. I feel like I constantly nag about bedroom tidiness, but am always told it's tidier than all of her friends. And to be fair, they say the same.
