DSD is 9, can anyone recommend a good "Things to Do" type book please? She's into art and... um... watching youtube Grin.

Just need to generate some ideas ready for the onslaught of "I'm bored" in the Easter holidays, especially since I will be 8.5 months pregnant so less able to do half the things I can think of that she might like. Don't want her sat in front of the computer all day!

If she likes Youtube and Youtubers you might find The Pointless Book & The Pointless Book 2 helpful for entertaining her as they are like little do it yourselves books and quite popular.

Also if you're worried she'll have too much screen time here's some ideas.

. Start a Scrapbook (Get a bunch of magazines or find her old magazines and she can cut out things from them and stick them in her scrapbook, create collages, stories, wish lists etc.
. If she likes reading find out her favorite genre of book and buy her a full book series in that genre. Eg. If she likes Jacqueline Wilson buy her more of those.
. If she's sporty arrange sport activities during the holidays, such as going to some local tennis courts, arranging to go swimming or signing up to some holiday sport clubs.
. Since she's arty encourage her to paint, you can find canvases for cheap in most pound stores or places like Discount UK. Buy the acrylic paints and get started.
. Photography, either get her a little disposable one to start with or lend a family one, go on a nature trip and let her take lots of pictures.
. Arrange in advance with friends, sleepovers, cinema trips, swimming, ice skating or even meeting up at the local park. Get her out of the house and socializing lots.
. Baking is fun, buy a junior cookery book and have her try out loads of new recipes.
. Maybe get her to make her own bucket list of things she wants to do and stick to it, don't limit screen time but come to an agreement on what times are for family and friends and going out or other activities.

Thanks for suggestions!

I've just got her Wreak This Journal, which seems a bit like the Pointless Book and which I think she'll really like.

I'd love to do some craft stuff with her, baking is a good idea - I'm a crap cook, but even I should be able to handle supervising kid's recipes shouldn't I? Wonder if I can find some savoury recipes given how big the pile of chocolate is for Easter already...

This is quite a fun book, and you can usually find it for pennies second hand on Amazon/Abebooks.

Just a word of warning about the Pointless book - it does ask questions like 'would you rather be sexually attracted to fruit...' and 'draw the missing genitals'. Hilarious Hmm for teens, but you may feel it a little TMI for 9 year olds...
