11yo DD boyfriend

Hi there my daughter has just started in yr 7. She has made lots of lovely new friends and has really settled well. I looked at her phone tonight as I'd heard through the grapevine that one of her new friends had become her boyfriend. I inadvertently asked her and she said no. However her what's app seems to say otherwise. They are telling each other they love each other!! They went to a friends house after school last week and played spin the bottle when she said she was at the park. Is this normal? If seems harmless. But she is only 11. And to be honest a bit needy on the text!!! I really don't know what to do!!

MY DD and her friends have had "boyfriends" at school since year 6 (she's now just started year 7.) who is "going out" with who is a big topic on imessage! She has been to the cinema with one boy (with his Mum sitting a few rows back!) and she has been to a boys house to "hang out" a few times. There are texts saying I love you soo much, then a week later they have split up! None of them seem too bothered when it ends and they move onto someone else. I think its all very innocent and they're just learning about relationships, but the lack of emotion and trauma when it ends suggests to me that there is nothing serious going on. If you ask DD if there's been any kissing or holding hands the answer is always "yuck!".
I wouldn't stress it, its great that your DD has friends who are boys as well as girls. Have you had the chat about birds and bees etc? Why not see if he wants to come to your house? I bet they spend their time playing Minecraft!!

My daughter has also just started secondary and one of her friends has a "boyfriend". When I asked about it I had the same reaction, holding hands occasionally is ok but kissing is still yuk. After stressing for half the day I was quite relieved to hear it's worst in our heads than it is in reality.
