Help! DD 12yrs is nagging me to shave her legs, is it too young, what razors?

Hi, at what age did you let your DD start to shave legs/under arms etc? I have to say she is not that hairy but she has got a real bee in her bonnet about it.

I am reluctant for her to use any of the creams as she has eczema so are there any good 'safer' razors for younger girls? Thanks.

DD1 has been using the little exfoliating sandpaper mitt things you can get, she's very fair and hair really soft so its been fine for her. She's same age.

I've had this conversation with DD who is only 9. The hairs on her legs are already becoming quite noticeable. I've agreed with her that as soon as she cannot stand it any more then I am going to take her and get her waxed. She knows it will hurt, but understands that the re growth will be less and the hairs will hopefully be finer as she gets older.

Dd has excema & has been fine with removal cream.

She started using it when she went into year 7 as she was doing ballet every day in just a leotard & ballet socks so felt self conscious.

My 11 y/o DD also wants to shave her own legs. I've told her it's okay but I'll supervise in case of cuts. She then mentioned this to her gran who was horrified and said they'd grow back all prickly and said she'd Epilady them for her. DD said ok, not knowing what an Epilady was. When gran appeared with the Epilady and turned it on, DD said she'd changed her mind (lol) but gran apparently chased her around the house saying "it doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt". Now she's considering letting me was them at home for her, after watching me do mine.

I meant to say "wax" them at home, not "was" them.

If you can afford it I'd she'll out on a Philips lumea - it'll be cheaper than all that waxing and be far easier to maintain.

She'll = shell

I'd never heard of the Lumea. Had a look and the cheapest is $400. Does it hurt?- my DD is 11.

Thing with waxing is you need a decent length regrowth- as a 12yo with dark hairy legs I hated being told I couldnt shave and had to wait for the regrowth. Awful!

I used to wear two pairs of tights to school even in full summer as my leg hair used to poke through.

It doesn't hurt at all - do it once every two weeks for a couple of months then just once a month. Grin
