Book Recommendations please!

DD1 is 7 about to turn 8 and I feel like I'm entering a whole new minefield of hormones, tantrums and behaviour. I've been chatting with other parents with similar age children (boys and girls) and we all feel we could do with some handbook! There was a plethora of stuff on babies and toddlers but the books and advice seem to dry up as they get older. So what helped you for this age? Aside from mn of course

My dd just turned 10 and she came home with an usbourne book ( from school library) " what's happening to me?" She knew some of her friends already had it at home. So bought it to ours, we have spoken about anything that she wanted to that was covered in the book-the usual things from hormones to having sex and not getting pregnant. It is quite matter of fact which she appreciated so maybe check it out first before showing your dd.

I have a 7 year old about to be 8 and in no way is she a preteen? Seems terribly young to be blaming challenging behaviour on hormones?

Well zoeweemumma I thought it would be useful to ask people who had been through this age for their opinions and it seemed the best place to ask.
I don't know what the issue is but she seems to have lots of ups and downs recently for no reason as in lovely one minute and losing the plot over something very minor the next (very similar to me once a month hence the hormone comment). All I wanted was some advice to understand what is going on and how to deal with it appropriately rather than just 'blaming' but you go ahead and judge that's fine.

I find it really useful to dip into, watch a video for 5 mins and gets some new ideas and perspective.
