Best way to get rid of dd's spot

MotherOfSoupDragon · 26/09/2013 12:27

DD, aged 12, has a big spot on her nose, she's been putting some gel (Oxy?) on it, but it just isn't going.

Can anyone recommend anything that's guaranteed to work?

Thanks.

Do you feel comfortable with her using concealer until it's goes?

A HUGE blob of sudocrem and a plaster before bed, it works a dream.

Does it need a good squeeze? I know they say you shouldn't squeeze spots but I genuinely feel it's necessary sometimes, especially with a beaut of one

Toothpaste can help to heal it too. Smile

Thanks. We've tried toothpaste and she has squeezed it, but it keeps coming back. It's the only one she's got so far. I have no sudocrem, do you know if another cream will do? I have germolene.

For anything like this I use Germolene WOUND CARE CREAM it really is good. Get it from Boots or other chemists - am never without it now!

I'm not sure what it is in sudocrem that kills them, maybe the antiseptic. Germolene is defo worth a go. Try steaming it, head over boiling hot water then get her to lay head in your lap while you squeeze with pads of your thumbs no nails. Toothpaste works too but stings like a mofo, especially if you've just had a good squeeze :(

you can get a cheap witch-hazel stick in boots - I think those are the absolute best for getting rid of zits. Better even than sudocrem! Also it is colourless so she can put it on in the morning before school as well as at night before bed and double-zap it...

Sorry to keep coming back, my dsis just reminded me we swore by freederm as teens. They do a stick and a gel/cream that will take spots down but also a whole range of face washes for prevention Smile

Germolene, a big blob, then DON'T TOUCH!

Thanks Smile. We will try germolene tonight, and I'll look in Boots for witch hazel and Freederm.

good luck
I must say I think germolene is the work of the devil and won't have it in my house, but I know people who think the opposite so hey ho!

Sometimes you need something non cream based. TCP is massively underrated and really effective ime.

Maybe using a toner at night time to get rid of the oil in the skin and then tea tree which you can get in a tube.
