My dd started her periods last September, and has developed increasingly bad PMT,as in anger, anxiety etc.
As its something I don't suffer from & never have.I would appreciate some advice on what I could give her to help with this as for one week a month our house is like a warzone!!Grin
Evening primrose maybe,but all month??

No advice as not quite there yet with DD (she gets the mood swings etc but only has bled couple of times)

BUT I can remember when I started my period (I was 15 though) the pain was that bad I repeatedly fainted and my mum only believed in crampex tablets Hmm I was taken to the doctor and they reccomended the pill, my mum refused thinking ut would promote me having sex so i had to suffer from really bad PMT and the pain til I was old enough to go on the pill and it was a life saver the pain, moods etc lessened alot (once they found the right pill that is)

I have to say if DD gets them as bad as me I would look at the pill as an option

Evening primrose oil def helped me years ago so worth trying.

Mine got ver bad in my 30s though and I had acupuncture which was brilliant.

Starflower oil is brilliant - you can get it in most supermarkets and is well known to help with PMT.

In my teens use to get a tight and feel rough for about 3-4 days before my period then very cripling cramps often felt sick, plus headache, leading to me often been off school. I started taking evening primrose oil daily and though it didn't stop every thing it did make a differants and mostly took the edge off things so I could keep going.

As for starflower oil not tried but have heard better then evening prirose oil.

Dd1 is on evening primrose and she's been better this month.

I've always suffered with terrible PMT. it's really horrible. Yes to evening primrose oil, exercise and fresh air, just 30 mins walk outside can make the world of difference. Also don't let her blood sugar drop. Try and persuade her to have a small healthy snack between meals, oat cakes etc the week leading up to and during her period.

At the same time limit sugar, caffeine and stress. It can be managed but it takes effort. Vit b12 can also help

Zinc & Selenium. These can be found in Brazil nuts. Magnesium also helpful.

My sister is 17 and suffered terribly with her periods since she was 9!

After trying a few things recommended by the doctor, she is on the pill now and she's much more human. Iykwim. She takes a good multivitamin too.

Vitamins b6 and b12 I think (but please google) helped a little and are vital.

Anything you try will take time, but persevere.
