DD is 10 and a real tomboy -she plays football and cricket and refuses to entertain girls clothes! She's big for her age and has a bust and has been wearing crop tops. We've just had a huge row becuase I bought her some very basic bra type tops. What do I do now?

Does she have friends who are girls?

Are they wearing bras?

What exactly was the row about?
Would she have reacted more positively if you had taken her with you to go shopping so she could choose tops she liked?

Put them away & wait for her nipples to chafe or someone to say something horrid about her bouncing chest.

Wouldn't it have been better to let her go choose the bras herself? And ask what she doesn't like, maybe she's afraid to be seen wearing a bra?

Have asked her lots and she just refuses to talk about it. Bought very basic white tops, not really bras. Dad has intervened and we are going tomorrow to look at her options!! She is really getting big enough for bras. God help us when her periods start..

Sorry... but what is Dad going to do?

Calm her down and stop her wailing!! She loves her Dad!

Ah, gotcha, I am impressed by a girl that will share bra woes with her dad. :)

How about a sports bra. Sloggi are also comfortable.

Primark do a great crop top in the adult section. Pack of two, one black and one white for about £4. My dd who is twelve wears them all the time. They are thick material and comfy. Also wash well. Good luck with the shopping!!

Sports bra sound the way forward, that way your not really pushing her down the girls route but more on the sports side of things helping her :)

OP please leave your DD alone, she'll ask for a bra when her brests get to the tender stage. Until then leave her be.
