Shampoo for greasy hair

my dd (12) has very greasy hair and I have tried many shampoos with fancy names but I just need a simple shampoo and conditioner that works! Can anyone suggest a good one?

my DD has chip pan hair she will kill me if she finds out I have said that on here -just started using herbal essences for greasy hair (think it is green tea?) and it is fantastic

Thanks. Will give that a try. My dd seems to come straight out of the shower with greasy hair. Oh the joys of teenage hormones!

DD 13 (well in a weeks time!) uses Head and Shoulders Citrus, Pantene Aqualight and Herbal Essences (it use to be the Icy Pineapple one, but that's disappeared so uses the Green Tea one) she tends to alternate these 3. She has long hair so does use a conditioner, BUT just on the ends. The I Love Juicy shampoo from Lush is supposed to be good so I will get her some of that to try.

Don't forget dry shampoos they can help if there's no time to wash your hair again (DD seems to wake up with greasy hair sometimes)
Another trick that sometimes helps if DD finds her fringe has gone greasy overnight is to just give the fringe a quick shampoo in the morning and then tie the rest of the hair back into a bun/pony tail. hope this helps Xmas Smile

If it's really really greasy, and gets greasy very quickly again after washing I'd ditch the wash in conditioner completely, and just use a leave in spray one for the ends - used sparingly. Smile For shampoo I'd go for the her al essences or something with tea tree oil - Superdrugs own is fantastic.

Also agree on the dry shampoo - they've come a long way since I was at school (talcum powder batsiste!). And I swear by them now for early get ups.

Head and shoulders citrus works well for my dd. Also the method of washing is important - is she using enough shampoo, shampooing for long enough (you're supposed to do it for 3 minutes I learned last week!) and is she rinsing it all out thoroughly?

Thanks for all the suggestions. She is not yet at the stage of spending ages in the shower (I long for that) and has to be nagged so she probably is not washing it that thoroughly! She is very private now though so it is hard to supervise! Have tried dry shampoo with some success and we used to like the iced pineapple shampoo, why do they always have to change things? Going to get a good hair cut tomorrow and buy the lush shampoo for her stocking. Thanks for all the help.
