Dd is adamant she doesn't want a bra, but feels a bit self conscious as all her friends wear one and have gently teased her.

I've said we'd go and get measured for one on the weekend, but was looking for your reviews on best bras/worst bras.
Dd has budding breasts, but is very broad in the back - will first bras cater for this or will she go straight into an adult style with a small cup?

If she's really only starting to develop, you won't find the right size in the adult section. I say that because as an adult with a broad back and small boobs, I'm always directed to the teenage bra section as adult bras don't fit me .

My DSD has some really pretty little bras from M&S teenage section. They are non-wired, so much more comfortable and less daunting for first timers, and come in fabric designs that are aimed at children and will probably be more appealing to your DD if she's not confident about wearing a bra (little pink love hearts, cherries, gingham, stripes, bright patterns, pale colours etc).

Can't vouch for M&S fitting service as I didn't fit her out, but looking at her bra I'd say they've given her the wrong size (too big on the band), not that I can say anything because I'm the 'wicked step mother' and she'd rather die than discuss her bras with me!

But I'm sure someone else will be along shortly who can help.

M&S will be pretty good or broad back sizes for soft bras and moulded cup ones. It's the angel range you want.
Many other places the " kids" range bras are both padded and underwired- on a 34AA in BHS for instance- I couldn't believe it!

I was in Debenham yesterday looking for my DD. I had intended to get her a couple of 28AA, but the shop assistant advised me to get her measured. I was a bit , but, it is free and DD is a skinny minny.

Underwired and padded, for a child? What are they thinking?! But thanks for the tip Theas - I'm off to BHS, it could be just the bra I've been looking for!

Debenhams are the mutts nuts. DD was measured last night and found to be a 28A. The woman doing it was great and they had a good selection.
