St George's Day: ideas for 3 - 4 year olds

We don't live in the UK, so St George's Day is not known here. I have asked my DD's pre-school teacher if I could spend 30 mins on St George's Day doing a little thing about England, St George etc.
She thought it was a great idea, but now I need a few more ideas to fill half an hour.

I was thinking:

  • show map showing where England is
  • story of St George
  • St George's flag
  • traditional English food and drink (any ideas?)

Anyhting else?

I think that will be enough tbh , they are only little ! Do you have any finger puppets(iirc Ikea do a set) or figures (Playmobil ?) you could have a couple of kids act the story out with ? I did similar once with ds' International school class when they were about 6 and it filled the session. Do they know songs such as London Bridge is falling down, Ring a Ring of Roses or Oranges and Lemons ? Could you take blank flags along for them to colour, decorate or stick a red cross onto ? For food and drink maybe make a Victoria Sandwich, scones with jam or some Cadbury's chocolate

We are designing shields with the children, and coats of arms.

They are making scones and having them with strawberry jam

Then making flags.

How about looking at picture of George and the dragon throughout the ages?

Hi
I am a childminder and we are having a week of things to do with St Georges Day - Mine are only 2yrs old but we are making cakes and putting liquorice lace crosses on them. Decorating shields and colouring pictures in and then hanging them up as decorations. I have asked the parents to put them in an England football top if they have one.
We are also going to get some flags and wave them around at singing time.
I am also going to see if they library has any childrens books on St George or Dragons for storytime
(I was going to get them to joust but dont really want to encourage too much rough play - they have enough without me adding more LOL )
hth xx
