Hi, anybody have any reviews on Buttercups Syon Park? My son goes to the Play Days Nursery in Chiswick and I am not a 100% satisfied with it. I am planning to move him to Buttercups syon park and hoping it is good for preschool once he is 3+ this Sept.

Any recommendations / reviews would be highly appreciated.

Hi yummummy, I don't have any insight into Buttercups but was looking into Play Days for my DS and was wondering what you didn't like about it?

Hi Noodlesforbreakfast,
My son goes to Playdays. The first impression is very good since the nursery is located in a custom built building and there are loads of rooms and overall it looks very spacious and impressive but now that my child has been there for more than 3 months, I hate them to the core. My reasons:

  1. On arrival in the morning, the children are not welcomed. The girls in the room continue doing their work (sorting out chairs, cleaning etc) and dont bother that the child has just arrived and is about to leave his mum / dad to be there for the entire day so might feel a bit comfortable if he is cuddled or even told what to do. My son has been the first one in for a few mornings and everytime I have stood there thinking what will he do now because there is no one to give him any direction. He feels as lost as I do.
  2. in terms of hygiene, i reievded a plastic bag the other day in my son's nursery bag which when i opened, had a poo filled underpant. This is on his 2nd week of having told the nursery that he has been fully potty trained at home. I agree he would be slightly conscious at school and may have had an accident but the least they could do was clean the pants or just throw them for all i care.. I dont really want a poo filled underpant in the bag with othr things... How unhygenic is that ?

Hi yummumumy, 2) sounds horrendous! Did you complain and what was their response?

As for 1) I totally understand as I moved my DS out of a nursery for partly that reason. The morning drop offs are stressful enough as it is and IMO, welcoming the child is fundamental to what a nursery provides.

Are you just looking at daycare nurseries? I went to visit Beanstalk Montessori which had glowing Ofsted reviews - however the hours aren't great as it starts at 9am and ends at 4pm which means that I'll need a nanny/au pair for pickups and even drop offs. What have you decided to do in the end?

Hi.. sorry for the rather late reply..

I decided to move my son from Playdays to TicToc Day nursery which is just next door. I have made several complaints, formal and informal at playdays but they all seem to have fell into def ears so i had to take the plunge and move him out. We are on a notice period till end march so he starts at tictoc around 29th march

Hi. We are moving into the area and have been looking at various nurseries in the area. Have you been happy at Tic Toc?

Kind Regards
Bernice

Hi All,

We are moving to the area too and looking at TicToc. Have you been happy with it? We are also looking at Teddys, Buttercup and the Caterpillar Montessori. Would love to know your thoughts!

Many thanks
Claire

Hi, we are moving to W4 in April and am looking for a part time nursery close to the High Road for my 2.5 year old daughter. I called caterpillar but the lady was very unfriendly. Do you have any good recommendations?

Thanks,
Hannah
