Bumps on head at playgroup

I just wondered how many minor bumps are normal at playgroup?

My DD has had two in about the last 6 sessions at playgroup, both caused by running into a table.

It is complicated as she has slightly low muscle tone and a motor delay so is not as steady on her feet as the others.

I am wondering if perhaps she needs more supervision than they are able to give her?

Or is this a normal amount of bumps?

Otherwise she is very happy there.

My 2 are always getting bumped, today ds ran into another childs elbow, and dd bumped her head on the sink.
Does she bump a lot at home, my 2 are always bashing into something

She doesn't, but probably because she is an only child and so I can keep a close eye on her, and I am quite protective of her because of her wobbliness!

Glad to know it's just normal though, I will relax, wasn't sure if I was just being PFBish

Thanks!

lawd, bumps are normal and to be expected when you have all those pre-schoolers running (they never walk [sigh]) around and never looking where they are going
I am an adult and i still come home from pre-school covered in bruises!

Thanks, I just worry as I am a bit nervous sending her to playgroup with a lot of children who are a year ahead in their development, you see

Between the ages of 18m and 4 I think we get about 1 bump note about once or twice a month. That is with 3 sessions (half days) per week - so I guess it is 12-15 sessions per month

so we get about 1 per 6-8 sessions I would say. MOst of them are head/face bumps.

I wouldn't worry too much. children are very good at looking out for the less able. Plus they will all be at different levels of development anyway. The children i work with are all going to school in september and there is a difference between the more able and the less able.
If you are worried you could always ask them to monitor her accidents for her future assessments. Little white lies never hurt anyone.

my ds2 (who I don't see as clumsy compared to ds1) has had about 6 quite serious head knocks in the last 2 weeks. Not A&E serious, although a couple I did consider it.

Seems perfectly normal to me.

Thanks, I am not so worried now I know its a normal amount of bumps! Glad I didn't shout at the poor staff
