I need a catchy name for my French toddler group! Any ideas welcome! (as long as politically correct!!)

I am starting a French club after Easter. it is aimed at 0 to 5 years old and is based on play and music.
I would like something that sounds French and fun!

MERCI BEAUCOUP

What's the French for 'tadpole'?

ChippyMinton · 16/03/2009 20:59

Chant d'enfants

sunandmoon · 16/03/2009 20:59

Chantons et dansons "let's play and sing"

La vache qui rit and Frogglers are fun name..

Rondes et chansons?
Le petit moulin?

Good luck with the French club.. where are you base?

supadoula · 16/03/2009 21:03

I am based in Windsor. I'd like it to be really good fun so a fun name is very welcome! I think chantons et dansons is just too French and not catchy enough. I guess it has too be pronouncable for non French speakers!

Tadpole is TETARD in French...
quite fun "les petits tetards"...

Smallorange: Picoti might be from a french nursery rythme Picoti Picota... Picoti is also a brilliant magazine for babies till the age of about 3yrs old

supadoula · 16/03/2009 21:04

chinstrap, the french for tadpole is tetard. Probably sounds too French...

les petits bleus, as in "allez les bleus"?
les petits patissiers with a croissant as a logo and baking class once a week, or le club croissant (lots of puns)?
le club eclair?
sounds great fun

ChippyMinton · 16/03/2009 21:08

Club Chateau Royal
Chevaliers et Princesses

ChippyMinton · 16/03/2009 21:13

Le Jolie Chateau (rip-off of La Jolie Ronde club)

supadoula · 16/03/2009 21:13

jkklpu, I'm not sure I can do any cooking although there will be some biscuits at the end, of course! Maybe I should find a name with food in it ("la vache qui rit" keeps coming back!)
chevaliers et princesses sounds nice but it is probably not understandable for non French speakers.

InSearchOfLostKeys · 16/03/2009 22:42

ChezPetits

ClubPapillon

ClubAlouette

Chantefleurs

supadoula · 17/03/2009 11:02

Bonjour Baby is nice! I think I'll go for Vache qui rit, though! Thank you everybody for your help!

If you need any more help let me know and I'll seek inspiration in my fridge again

just a thought - would you need permission from the cheese people d'ya think?

KiwEasterKat · 07/04/2009 23:29

Brilliant idea! Anything like this in London?

Smithagain · 08/04/2009 19:32

Am pretty sure Vache qui rit is a trademark - I'd be wary of using it in case they are litigiously-minded.

Whatever you go for, make sure it's something your average, linguistically-challenged english-speaker can pronounce without embarrassment. I'd hesitate to go along to a class whose name I couldn't even say properly!

Butkin · 09/04/2009 22:29

Rendezvous?

kabes · 25/04/2009 13:18

supadoula, I live in Windsor and would be interested in finding out more about the class - let me know how it is going!

pranma · 26/04/2009 10:35

how about 'Je ne sais quoi'
'Maison des enfants'

TripleC · 05/06/2009 11:29

Hi. I'd be interested in joining your Windsor group (I'm in Kingston). I speak French at home with my younger daughter but it would be nice to have a chat in French with someone other than myself! Where can I find more details?

frenchie70 · 10/09/2010 12:28

hi there,

how is your club going? how much do you charge? did you start on your own? how long did you advertise for?
