Just wondered if anyone knew anything about this one. Seems fairly unconventional which i like the idea of and international students and staff which i like the idea of.

No idea but whatever it's like it's asking to be nicknamed Hell House isn't it?

TheBlonde · 09/07/2008 16:07

not sure that it's unconventional? they have a funny uniform

it's spread across maybe 5 sites

friend's child is there and they are happy esp due the the international mix (they are not British)

My brother went to a school that was near Hill House and we were forever seeing groups of children trooping along the street from one site to another....

They do seem to do a lot of moving around; they take them every day in a mini bus to a park or sports facility as they don't have any outside space at any of the five sites (except nursery school site).

Yeah it's the rusty coloured plus fours and chunky oatmeal jumpers; probably what made me think it was an unconventional school. Won't have the prob with the hairbands as I have a son!
They do sports every day, hence lots of bussing around.

Didn't Prince Charles go there?

Kewcumber · 09/07/2008 16:18

no I think Princes W and H might have though

Zazette · 09/07/2008 16:20

is it a Steiner school? not wearing black is a Steiner thing, I think

peasoup · 09/07/2008 16:21

The princes went there?!!

Actually no - plantsitter is right ... Prince Charles started at Hill House school in west London on 7th November 1956.

plantsitter · 09/07/2008 16:25

Don't know whether to be proud of myself for knowing that or not!

ScummyMummy · 09/07/2008 16:26

Prince Charles definitely went there. Seem to remember reading somewhere that he hated it as discipline of choice was beating little boys on butt with table tennis bats. That was the olden days though, obv.

Kewcumber · 09/07/2008 16:26

do you have royal teatowels and mugs?

ScummyMummy · 09/07/2008 16:28

Not a steiner school. Just very posh prep school.

iBundle · 09/07/2008 16:28

and Lily Allen

plantsitter · 09/07/2008 16:28

Who, me? Natch! And those special tiny teaspoons.

ScummyMummy · 09/07/2008 16:29

who me? I have a princess di coin, I think. From when she was getting married.

ScummyMummy · 09/07/2008 16:30

Funny that mockney lily allen went there!

iBundle · 09/07/2008 16:31

i bet that's where prince charles gets his natty dress sense from

peasoup · 09/07/2008 17:20

It didn't seem that posh; but I suppose cos it's international there were lots of American kids and only the British manage to sound posh It did seem a little wacky.
