Hi, need some help before I loose my mind.....my nearly 4 year old is very interested in learning to draw letters and numbers but get soooo frustrated when they don't come out exactly perfect. I've tried explaining that he's just learning but omg the crying whinging and huffs are just something else!!help!!!😅😅

Has he got easy to hold pens and pencils? Or a rubber holding device? The pen control at this age makes it very tricky for them.

nope🙈just normal colouring pencils. Will look at this thanks.

One thing is to get playful and do sone stupidly big ones and sone tiny ones, different colours and draw boxes for them to go in etc.

These are very well formed for his age. Their hands aren’t very strong to hold pencils at this age, it’s good to focus on other fine and gross motor skills to build the right over all body skills.
Would he be up for writing in rice or sand with his finger? Or making letters out of play dough? This will help his writing.

How about the wipe clean books? He can just rub it out if he doesn't like and try again then.

I had thought of them but tbh I try and steer him
away from writing because they drama it causes🙈

Will give these a go and see if he takes to that better.

He needs to work on pencil control and the strength in his hands. His numbers are well formed but see how light and shaky they are? He doesn't have the control to press down with the pencil. Work on his finger strength, playdough, fine motor activities like using tweezers to pick up pompoms...
