New to England - holiday etiquette

Hello. I recently moved here from the US to greater London and have 2 DD's attending pre-schools. They attend a drop off playgroup 2 mornings/wk and a more traditional nursery class 3 afternoons/wk. Between the 2 schools they have about 12 teachers!
In the US they were in small classes with only 2 teachers, so it was traditional to give a holiday a gift.
Is that done here? What would one get for so many teachers?
Also, since they are now moving onto a state nursery in Jan it is their last term at these schools. Does that make a difference?
I really appreciate the advice! I feel so lost on these types of things.

Gift are given, but you shouldn't see it as something you have to do.

My kids have lots of different teachers and I buy a box of biscuits for their staff room.

But you shouldn't feel pressured into giving.

At our playgroup I would say about 50% of parents give gifts when their child is leaving. Usually boxes of biscuits or chocloates which can be shared in the stafroom. But a nice thank you card is just as appreciated, if not more.

You could also find out if they are having an xmas night out somewhere and if so put money behind the bar or give the money to soemone to buy some wine ? If I was a preschool teacher I would prefer that to biscuits!
