When to start looking for a nursery?

I'm currently pregnant with my first but not sure when to start looking for things like nurseries etc. I'll be taking a year's mat leave. Should I wait until baby's born or do people start looking earlier as I know when I'd be going back to work etc.

Yeah, call around and see what the places near you suggest. I was Greater London at the time and sorted DDs place when she was 10weeks (to start when she was 12 months). However, we ended up moving just before her first birthday, moving a town over. Sorted a new childminder a month before she started. We then moved again 3 years later and sorted a new nursery spot a month or so before moving. Baby rooms with have less spots though I imagine so probably best to find out what the deal is near you.
