Progressive nurseries/receptions in Scotland that are pro-immunisation?

Hello, I've been trying to find a progressive nursery and/or reception in either East or more eastern West Lothian (we are moving into Scotland but haven't settled on an area yet), but it seems all the outdoor-based/technology eschewing ones tend to align themselves more along the Steiner school line of being less pro-jab than I'd like. I've seen schools get great reviews but not be upfront about their rates (either declining to collect the information on the basis of student privacy or insisting that sharing even the percentage of vaccinated students would be a violation of privacy). I hate to keep my kids out of school but we have immuno-compromised family members that I don't want to jeopardise by having the kids go to schools with rates that would not be considered effective for herd immunity. Any tips on where to be looking that still takes kids outside and keeps them off iPads but also displays common sense in this regard?

While I appreciate your willingness to act as representative of “the locals” as well as your obviously sincere, well-meaning attempts to get me off on the right foot, I’ll admit to not being particularly receptive to snitty “advice” that is prefaced with childish insults.

My appreciation, however, to others in this thread who have had helpful advice to guide me in my search. Many thanks.

Midlothian have a council run Forest School starting up details on their website. Highland fling is a good outdoor based nursery and after school club in Portobello.

Nurseries here do not ask about vaccinations. The council forms will ask about the date of a last tetanus injection but this information is for emergency treatment and will not be collated. They aren't being cagey, they simply don't know.

There is no such thing as reception in Scotland.

There are some very well regarded private forest schools in the Dalkeith area but both Edinburgh and Midlothian council also run their own, some school nurseries have the children in forest school for the morning then in traditional nursery class in the afternoon. Both DC went to LA nurseries (Edinburgh council) and outdoor play was greatly encouraged. Dd2 did forest school as part of it. They did not have iPads or televisions.

I gave a lot of helpful advice about my experience of nursery

I'm not local, and have found Scottish people in general to be straight-talking, so if you get offended every time someone says you're being an arse it might not be the best move!
Finding somewhere supportive of your family health situation does seem tough and I do wish you luck with that.

I find when people refer to themselves as “straight talking”, as you seem to consider yourself based on your assumed role as spokesman for the “straight talking” Scottish people (of which I am one, I must mention - so your comment recommending I stay out of my own country is a touch ridiculous), it usually means they’re fairly tasteless and lack self-control. I’ll take the actual Scottish version of “straight talking” over an outsider’s trying to speak on their behalf, thanks.
