What's the difference between EYFS and ELG?

Has ELG replaced EYFS? What's the relationship between the two?
Daughter is at preschool and her reports have gone from talking about 40-60 etc. exceeding etc to referencing ELG. Preschool have said it's just what they work on in reception but I thought reception was EYFS too?

Early Learning Goals?? If so it's what they work towards in EYFS (early years and foundation stage).

The EYFS (early years foundation stage) is the whole framework and curriculum that covers birth to the end of Reception.

The month development bands eg 30-50, 40-60 are a way of tracking progress through the EYFS.

The ELGs are 17 Early Learning Goals that children should achieve by the end of the Reception year. It's unusual for children to achieve the goals in preschool.

Some preschools, especially if lead by nursery nurses rather than qualified teachers, can be a little generous in their assessments of younger children meeting the goals so you might find her Reception teacher will have different expectations of what the ELGs mean.

I agree with Smoggle about differing expectations in some pre schools and Reception.
