Christmas gifts for private school teachers?

My child has started at a private pre-prep school and it’s all new to me. Christmas is almost here and I’m worrying about what to buy for the teachers.
Are the gifts bought usually more extravagant than the ones bought by state school parents? My other 2 children are at a state school and I just bought chocolates for the teachers there but I’m worried if I do that at this posh prep school that I will be thought of a stingy.
Also, do you get for all the teachers the children have like for music, swimming, PE, maths etc or just the form tutor , teaching assistant and the head of pre-prep?

I bought nice plants or posh tea and biscuits for teacher/ T.A. and sometimes a big box of biscuits or chocs for staffroom. Cards for any other teachers ds wanted to thank with personal message

Check there isn’t a collection - some one usually does one in our class. Presents range from biscuits and fizz up to full on weekend spa breaks. I am deffo the biscuits and fizz end of things, and no one really cares where you are on the spectrum!

Ok i work in a pre prep and my ds is now in the prep school. So as a parent I made a conscious decision not to engage in any competitive gift buying. Throughout pre prep ds made handmade cards using nice craft stuff from hobbycraft - the teachers always loved them! I didn't give gifts.

As a member of staff, anything homemade is very appreciated, as is hand cream (our hands are constantly dry), and yes we love chocolate/ cake/biscuits. But honestly you really don't need to buy anything or go to any trouble.

I would much rather parents saved the money they spend on teacher presents, bought a lovely book and read with their children every night. Whilst it is lovely to get the gifts, I know many teachers who simply send them straight to the charity shop or to the school sale. I think a lovely card made with you, by your child would be much more meaningful. I hope this doesn't offend x
