My sin's nursery is having a 'helping / caring occupation' day tomorrow and I don;t have a costume for him. Admittedly he's too young for peer pressure (not quite 2), but I don't want him to be the only one not in a bit of custume. Any suggestions for easy (and quick!) costume ideas. Please

Send him in his ordinary clothes and say he is a health care assistant (we don't wear clothes in the community,it is viewed as institutional)
Piss easy

Oh dear, you've left it a bit late, haven't you! How about a white shirt and a toy stethascope?

FrayedKnot · 24/05/2007 23:12

God I'd die if DS' nursery made me do things like this but anyway

has he got a Dr's kit? Please say yes

Big white shirt

Stethoscope

Glasses - make cardboard cut out ones?

etc

80sMum · 24/05/2007 23:15

Baggy jeans, too-small tee shirt, few bits of old pipe etc and he's a plumber!

Monkeybar · 24/05/2007 23:17

You are all lovely ladies!! (But unfortunatley my poor, deprived ds doesn't have a dr's set, and although I kept meaning to get one this week I was too busy at work and my dh is away for a few nigths, so I can't even dash to the 24hr Tesco and cobble something together). Do you think it's possible to MAKE a stethoscope?

Nor does he have a white shirt for that matter!

I'll have to resort to writing 'paramedic' on the back of a top and be done with it!

How about
Apron and a wooden spoon - Chef?
Green shirt and toy stethoscope - vet?
Check shirt jeans and hard hat - (bob the) Builder?
Waistcoat and neck kerchief - Train driver.
Football kit - Pro footballer
ditto rugby kit

Pyjamas - bed tester? (getting desperate now)

80sMum · 24/05/2007 23:30

How long have you got? This might inspire you!
or this

Monkeybar · 24/05/2007 23:33

Thanks for the links 80smum. Unfortunately I have until I go to bed tonight, which is likely to be a lot later than I wanted it to be!

Actually, you could leave him in his pyjamas, dot lipstick all over him to create a rash and pop a bandage on his arm/leg and he could be the patient the others are caring for.Added bonus, you would not have to get him dressed thus saving yourself time for an extra cup,of tea/coffee/toast

ILoveDolly · 24/05/2007 23:37

or if he has any green or blue pjs you could tie a scarf around his head and say he is a surgeon.

wrinklytum · 24/05/2007 23:43

Or,if you have one of those blocks trolletys you could take the blocks out,put a doll or teddy in with blanket over it,dress him in blue trousers and a polo shirt,nd make him an ID badge with "Hospital Porter" on it

nappyaddict · 24/05/2007 23:53

does he have a shirt and trousers? that could make him a teacher or waiter.

or tshirt and shorts - pe teacher - even easier!

nappyaddict · 24/05/2007 23:54

or how about a lifeguard? thats easy too.

nappyaddict · 24/05/2007 23:55

or normal clothes - taxi driver, nanny

shirt and trousers again - bus driver

jeans and tshirt - mechanic, gardener
