Taking daughter out of nursery...

Hi all.. I'm just writing to try and get some advise as I feel pretty unsure on what to do.

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have a daughter who's 4 and loves nursery. Im suffering with Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) pretty bad now though. I can hardly walk, I have some good days and some very bad days.

My daughter only has about 5 weeks left in nursery until the holidays start but I'm finding it so painful and difficult to get her there everyday.. I'm considering taking her out of nursery all together now. I feel like a big let down to her though because I know she does love it there (she does also love being at home with me).

I don't have anyone one who can take her for me ether though..

What shall I do?? Shall I keep her in nursery but have lots of pain and discomfort trying or just keep her home from now on and take her to the park etc when I can or rely on family to take her out when they finish work?

Thank you.. 😔

Have a chat with the nursery, they maybe be doing transition stuff that she would find helpful so it might be worth taking her in once or twice a week for that if you could manage it rather than withdrawing all together.

That said, it is not unusual for a child to finish nursery at this stage, in some places it is common for families to go on a big holiday before the child starts schools and the rules get much stricter and the children transition fine so whatever you choose (or are forced by your body as it doesn't sound like you have much choice, PGP is horrible) will be fine.

Have you had physio for the PGP? I was diagnosed with PGP at about 36 weeks, went to the physio who realised that it was actually an additional problem causing most of the pain and in two sessions I was able to walk/bend down etc. comfortably again.

I personally would do everything you can to get your DD to nursery. It'll be hard occupying her nicely for 5 weeks while you're struggling physically. Also, she likes it and that familiarity as her world is about to change must have a value.
