Hiya, I'm trying to work out how much we'll pay for a Croydon private school (Elmhurst or Royal Russell) after the 15hours bursary is factored in. And under what conditions would I qualify for 30 hours free at these schools? Any ideas please? Thanks in advance.

It's a flat rate reduction for all children under the relevant age (I forget what) in a specific term.

It was £260 per term for our nursery (3 years ago).

All nurseries need to cover their costs, so will work out how many (if any) free 30 hour places they can afford to give without going bust. You need to ask them.
Lots of nurseries do give a few 30 hour places completely free to parents.

To parents who they know really need it. Usually parents who have had a free 2 year old place for 15 hours at the nursery and have found a job so qualify for 30 hours.

Ask, but don't expect too much. Childcare costs and the free places are being subsidised by the nursery.

You need to check if both qualify for either scheme, not all private schools register for it. What is your plan once your dc turns 5 as fees rise pretty steeply thereon in. The bursar should be able to advise on how the funding is applied.

Thanks all. Great advice. Elmhurst have told me it's between £700-800 per term. Not insignificant but overall still a pricey investment. Baked beans for dinner until they are 18 yo I suspect. Or I need a promotion!!!
