My boys do 4 mornings, I was going to up it to an afternoon too just wondering if that's to much. They love going.

DD does two days all day 9-3.30 and one afternoon 1-3.30. She was doing one whole day and 2 half days but this week started doing a second whole day. I felt she was ready and she was asking to go. She really enjoys going on the days she has lunch there.

funnypeculiar · 08/03/2007 21:51

2 mornings a week

FrannyandZooey · 08/03/2007 21:52

3 sessions. We started with one and worked up to 3 now he is nearly 4. Tbh I think 2 would be better for him personally but I kind of need the extra session for myself

Ellieump · 08/03/2007 21:52

he uses all his 5x2.5 hr gov. funded sessions
and loves it!

two and a half hours five afternoons a week

wears him out completely, it's fab for all of us! hard work during the holidays now...

bubblerock · 08/03/2007 21:58

4 x 2.5 hrs in the mornings at the moment although he's been home ill more times than he's been since starting in Jan

cece · 08/03/2007 22:02

1 morning per week. Will be upping it to 2 mornings per week after Easter holidays.

Linnet · 08/03/2007 22:04

dd1 went 5 mornings a week, she did a year of nursery then a year of pre-school before starting primary 1. We never felt it was too much for her, she loved to go and got a lot out of it.

We put dd2's name down last week at the same school and again she'll be going 5 mornings a week.

Peridot30 · 08/03/2007 22:04

My dd goes 5 afternoons a week for 2.5hrs has done since she started in January. Will be changing to mornings after easter.

Gobbledigook · 08/03/2007 22:05

Ds2 was still 3 when he started school nursery (5 X 2.5 hr afternoons) and he also did 3 mornings in another nursery. He was 4 in the November though having started that in Sept.

Ds3 will be 3 at the end of Aug - he will do the same - 5 afternoons at school nursery and 3 mornings at his other nursery. He is very socially comfortable/advanced or whatever - he loves nursery and is very outgoing and confident. I'm not worried about him coping - if he gets too tired I'll drop some of his mornings.

MilaMae · 08/03/2007 22:08

This afternoon would kind of be for me so feeling a tad guity but they're coping with 4 brilliantly and love going. It would mean they'd be going to pre-school every day.

Don't feel so bad now, seems to be a real mixture.

it works as a good build up to those scary days when they'll be at school all day!

CocoLoco · 08/03/2007 22:32

My dd (3.5) does 3 full days Mon/Wed/Fri so she has a day off in between. She did try 2 consecutive days and was really tired, so I'm going to leave it as it is. Hopefully by September she'll be ready for 5 full days....

paulaplumpbottom · 08/03/2007 22:38

My DD 3.5 goes Mon Wed Thurs from 8:45 to 12

NappiesGalore · 11/03/2007 13:15

my 3yo recently changed from doing 5 mornings, to 3 full days in the middles of the week. he has adjusted really well and i really like the balance. i think he gets more out of a full day (they do different stuff in the afternoons and he likes cooked school lunches) and 3 days is just right for him; hes reallyt ready for his 'working week' to end and start each time it comes around IYSWIM
my 2yo does 4 mornings, but will prob join his brother doing 3 full days when he joins him in sept.

hunkermunker · 11/03/2007 13:16

Two a week - he's just been offered an extra one, but he won't get funding till September and he doesn't need the extra session yet, so that's enough. He mostly loves it now too, despite a shaky start!

hunkermunker · 11/03/2007 13:17

(He's 2.11 though, not three yet!)

wangle99 · 16/03/2007 20:56

DS is nearly three and a half and goes for 3 full days (Tue, Thur and Fri) and he loves it!

oooggs · 16/03/2007 20:59

He is 3.3 and has just gone from 5 sessions (2 days & one morning) to 6 sessions (3 days). He loves it and with twins due very soon we all benefit.

wanderingstar · 17/03/2007 19:32

5x 3hrs every morning. Loves it; he's 3.2.

CowsGoMoo · 20/03/2007 14:55

My dd attends nursery two times a week from 9-1. She has lunch at the nursery school too which she loves!
She was 3 in Feb. When she goes into the rising fives class this sept she will go for 3 mornings 9-1. She asks every day to go to nursery, but I'd miss her too much

PeachyClair · 20/03/2007 14:56

5 afternoon sessions, all the kids do at the pre-school lined to the school (he starts school September, or HE)

dither · 20/03/2007 14:59

my 3yo now does 3 full days, switched from 5 mornings.
seems to be a winning combination for him. (they do more interesting stuff in the afternoons, and he really enjoys lunch over in the 'big school')
