they are doing 'the senses' and dd1 has to take something 'smelly' in to preschool. i assume it will be there all week while they do the project.

i cant think of anything

dd1 says a smelly sock but i htink all the other parents will think of that too

i dont think it has to be 'bad' smelly...

Piece of cheese?

Or if it can be nice what about a bar of fruity soap?

wurlywurly · 30/01/2007 12:07

cheese
lemon
orange
perfume

marthamoo · 30/01/2007 12:07

Soap might be better if it's going to be on dispaly all week What about a Body Shop one - they are very fruity?

wurlywurly · 30/01/2007 12:07

a smelly candle

nailpolish · 30/01/2007 12:08

would it be ok to take a piece of cheese tho' and leave it at the school all week? and i thought of perfume but i wouldnt want a 4 yr old squirting it in his eye!

chocolatebirdy · 30/01/2007 12:11

A smelly eraser?

tigertiger · 30/01/2007 12:11

probably too obvious, but something from the garden? a bit from a pine tree or something equally strong in smell

nailpolish · 30/01/2007 12:11

those horrible net bag things full of lavender that your grandparents put in their drawers? or moth balls/cedar balls for wardrobes?

tigertiger · 30/01/2007 12:19

any more ideas needed? brains going into overdrive thinking about 'smelly' things

DizzyBint · 30/01/2007 12:21

an apple or a lemon? even something made of leather. i think that's better than something deliberatly scented.

nailpolish · 30/01/2007 12:21

i have some body shop soap and a near empty vicks jar, so ill let dd1 choose which one she prefers!

thanks for helping xx

DizzyBint · 30/01/2007 12:27

sorry! i just think it's nice if she sees things as naturally smelly, rather than taking in a scented candle or whatever that's been made to be smelly. i like heuristic play you see! up to you..it's just what i'd do.

nailpolish · 30/01/2007 12:30

is ok, dizzy, i agree with you
