Distance learning course in early years / preschool education?

I may also post in chat for traffic.
Wondering if anybody has any advice or help with how I would go about doing a distance learning course in pre school education?

My only actual experience is having raised my own children and teaching childrens ministry at church. I do have a 'contact' who has a pre school and I think I could perhaps do unpaid work there if I needed to do placements or similar.

I am just trying to gauge options at the moment as it is something I think I would love to do and I am in the lucky position that I could probably afford to do it even if it didn't immediately lead to employment.

Anybody have any experience of which course or education institution would be good, are any more well regarded than others?

Thanks for any input.

I did an open university degree in early years, but you can start of with a certificate in early years.

Level 3 is a good place to starting you haven't qualifications at all.

If you have a level 3 you can do e100 course via OU which will give you level 4 in early years.

If you have a degree (in anything) you can do yet course.

Hello,

You may be interested in the following course:-

www.learnnow.org.uk/children-and-young-peoples-workforce-level-2-qcf-distance-learning.html

Because this is a competence based NCFE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification, you would need to have a placement in a child care setting in which to gather evidence of skills and learning, and you will need to nominate a workplace supervisor qualified to level 4 or above in child care, who will oversee your practical evidence gathering.

It is a recognised qualification and as it is QCF it also carries 35 credits.

Good luck x
