you must have the evacuation plan under the National Standards/ It's the same as your fire evacuation. But you'll need the policy written up. We use a local school about five minute walk away...so we've got a letter from their headteacher explaining that, and you'll also need a risk assessment on the route. You should also have a policy on how to contact parents and who has responsibility for bringing out the contact register (but that should all be in your fire evacuation policy).

Can I ask what funding you got? Whilst the preschool is part of a church building project we will undoubtedly need funds for fitting it out etc. Is your project underway? Did the plans need checking by OFSTED? Sorry for all the questions

our pre-school is a registered charity, but our building is a very old mobile with lots of probs. We have previously applied for lotery funding, sure start, council money, money from the free masons, local carnival funds.... etc Oh yes we asked every one. in the end we had to make our selves a very fat and long winded business plan. The head of our local school has been very helpfull (as we are his main feeder) we have ended up with county council funding for our prodject. Its been very slow and we have had to attend loads of meetings. We have put in our planing aplication and are waiting to hear back before starting ground works

Any of you trying to do the(kite mark)as it was End of mod 7 and 8??
