Sorry Mum: not a good start, "Her-el-p". Not "Her" - just "H", like breathing out; difficult, I know.
Alphablocks, everyone says is a good place to start.
Besides books to 'read' (sound out from) give her paper and pencils for 'mark making' to have a go at letters herself, or letter shapes. Or shallow tray of dry sand, flour etc to make shapes with finger. (Don't do dots or shapes for her to go over, leave is all to her.)
In MN book reviews of educational books there is a review I did which is a useful book for a bit later on, or now if you want to learn more yourself straight away.
Keep it fun, plenty of praise, and minimal correcting otherwise can get discouraged.
Study MN pre-school and Primary Ed threads - there's masses on Phonics. Look for teacher 'mrz' - she's the World's best!
Plenty of ideas on this site: www.oxfordowl.co.uk/
I'll come back sometime, see how you getting on, and give more ideas if I come across things.
