Anyone fancy explaining to me in words of one syllable what options I have for 2yo DS1 once a week or more often?

toddler group ?

swimming ?

music group ?

Our pre-school playgroup takes from 2 years when accompanied by parent (have to be at least 2.5 before can be left).

Baby gym?

throckenholt, these pre school playgrops are private or of state. I am interested as ds1 is soon going to be 2.5

Orinoco · 17/05/2006 22:04

Pomi, round here they'd be private - the state won't have them until the term after they're three.

Hunker, private nurseries around here will take children of any age by the hour, but it costs.

tumbletots

tortoiseshell · 17/05/2006 22:31

Dd has started playgroup - is a privately run one, but can use the vouchers once she is 3. They take them from 2.5.

Other than that - story time at the library?

oops · 17/05/2006 22:36

a playschool where you leave the child for a couple of hours?
they work the same timings as school, ie have half term ec
and they have morning and afternoon sessions.

did you eant to b leaving him?

or there may be groups at your library (take your own changing matSmile and dispose of nappies hygenically purleese)

If it is the former you want then maybe check with your local council, or maybe ofsted website, i seem to remmeber they ahd details for all the playgroups/nursieries locally.

Our school nursery (where they go from 3) has wraparound care that is now available to 2 year olds who then filter into the school nursery - the advantage is that they are like a private nursery but is on the school premises, looka fter them in the holidays and take them to and from nursery! I can see more schools doing this - income from renting out a school room and guaranteeing a regular supply of kids for the nursery! The day care one has to turn people away as they are full!
