I don't know if this is the right place but I have just found out about the "you're baby can read" and I was wondering if anyone else has tried it or if it works

here's a link to the website www.yourbabycan.co.uk/Index/ if you don't know what I'm talking about but really you'll only be able to help if you do know about it!

Nonsense! Your baby will tell you what he/she wants to do or learn. If its reading, fine, but it will probably be other things.

Just follow your child talk, talk, talk (preferably with correct grammar), read, listen, play ... everything else will fall into place at the right time.

Agree with the others, there is no point in buying something like this.

Also, there is never a need to teach your child to read - you should teach your child phonics. My DN learnt to read at her school mainly concentrating on high frequency words, her reading in Y2 is about below average but she struggles with long words particularly if they are phonetically built. DS1 learnt his phonics well and could just read a year before starting school, we never taught him words and he just built on his phonics knowledge, he has always had a reading age double his actual age!

I am not saying this is 100% why he reads well and DN doesn't but it does make sense to me.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere Their first sign is usually 'biscuit'

DD1's first sign was Duck. DD2's was also Duck.

Wonder what it says about genetics?!
