we live in a rural area, childcare options are pretty limited within our village (one registered childminder who really freaked me out with over possessive/affectionate behaviour) and a play school in a hall that looks like total chaos..
Further afield we have great private nursery schools who do short days in term time only, amazing pre prep nurserys who do slightly longer days term only and a couple of chain nurseries that do long days (from 7.30 to 6 if you have to), there are also several good childminders but the good ones have very limited places of course
Due to a redundancy, change of job roles, starting up a business we need to change the number of hours DD is cared for (I've been not quite a sahm, but have only averaged 1.5 days work a week since she was born)

So, none of the above have much time for us, what kind of a blend in provision is ok for a 2.4 yr old, she loves her half day at nursery, she is nicely confident and independent at play sessions and on play dates/days with friends
Sorry to go on, but feel a little lost!

What is your budget? Nannies can be quite a flexible option, but expensive for one child. If you can find someone to share with it might make it more affordable.

I'd look into the play school. Do you have any friends who use it? Chaos can be fun Smile.

Good luck!

I think you need to think of it from 2 other angles too :
a) what cover do you need for your work..... how much in total / what times of day / do you need to 'be available' at certain times of day, / do you need to do a "bit" on every day or can you do a block ? etc.
b) what spaces / options they have available.
