Can I swap nurseries after 6 months??

My ds2 is due to turn 3 in February. Because of when his birthday falls he has not been accepted for nursery A(lets call it) as they are totally full.

This is the nursery that ds1 goes to which is part of the school they will both attend. He is enrolled and will start the following August.

There will be 6 months where he is eligible for nursery but won't have a place. I have called another nursery B and they say then have spaces.

So ultimately I want ds2 to go to nursery A but feel he could do with some child interaction at the moment and a more structured routine.

Could I put him into nursery B for six months and then swap him into nursery A after the summer holidays. I'm not sure if anyone has done this and if it would affect funding?

Any advice gratefully appreciated!!!

If I read this correctly, (and I am in Wales so maybe different) here you apply for the early entitlement place for the term after a child's 3rd birthday. You then reapply (quite often elsewhere, but sometimes same place) for nursery in September the school year the child is 4.
So DS3 is in early entitlement from January in one nursery, in September he starts the nursery attached to the school. (He could have gone to early entitlement at the school but it doesn't suit my work hours).

thats right so they do..i had to re-enrol my first ds when he started his second year in nursery. Brilliant! I'm in scotland but i'm sure this still applies! Thank you so much for reminding me!whoopee!!

yes by law you are entitled to do this aslong as you have registered in advanced, there may still not be a place avaliable when you child is entitled to the funding. One thing i would say that you need to think about, is it can take around 3-4 months for a child to feel fully settled and comfortable within a nursery and if you chnage after 6 months it 'may' take him longer to settle into the 2nd one which 'may' then take him longer to settle at school. Don't want to worry you but its just something that i am aware of, you know how confident your child is.
