Is that even possible?
My daughter will be 3 in December and we thought we will be able to place her in state nursery for 15 free hours per week.
But now after reading guides and web sites l am sooooo confused...it seems its not even possible.

From schools websites l was able to understand that they accept children from age 4 and thats basicly reception year that starts in september after your child is already 4. No talk about nurseries at all!

Private nurseries do not want to take her for only 3 hours. I cant afford to pay 600 pounds cause l am not working at the moment!

So is it even possible to put your child into nursery by only using grant?

thanks

Yes but you might want to look at 'playgroups'. Both mine went for 5 x 2.5hrs a week

Course it is!

I work in a sessional pre-school and most of our children attend for 5 sessions a week, which is there 15 hour entitlement.

She won't qualify for the funding though until January

The term after they turn 3 they are entitled to 15 hours free funding. So your dd will get it in Jan 2011.

My ds does two and a half days a week as our nursery is flexible about how you use the time.

Children get funded the term after they turn 3
my son does 16 hours (I pay for 1 ) and my niece does 15 hours in a private nursery over 2 days.

thx
let me point out that non of the private nurseries in our area will take her for only 3 hours. they r offering half day 5 times per week for additional pay of 500 pounds on average.
we live in area with acute shortage of nurseries and there for the all take paying parents first.

we have 1 state nursery that accepts from 3yrs on and its impossible to get it.

where can l obtain list of playgroups?
she goes to playgroup but l have to stay there with her so its not really a nursery.
