Should I speak to the teacher?

DD started nursery 2 wks ago and drop off/pick up time is so hectic with everyone taking off/putting on coats that I haven't really had a chance to speak to the teacher, other than in passing when she said dd had plenty of friends.

She's not used to being around so many children or adults she doesn't really know. But I guess she is settling in ok as the teacher hasn't said anything to me.

Shall I assume no news is good news and leave things as they are or try and find a moment to speak to the teacher? I don't want to bother her or for her to think I'm a fussing fool.

It sounds like your DD is settling in well if she is happy to go and making friends!

I think though that it would be perfectly normal to ask the teacher for a bit more feedback since she has just started, and gives you a chance to develop a bit more of a relationship with the teacher which might set the stage for good communication in future. Drop-off and pick-up times can be busy though and that might be why you had the short response, maybe you could ask the teacher to meet for a short chat at a quieter time of this is possible for you? Or even by e-mail, if the school communicates that way?

Thanks pony, I didn't want her to think I was being all PFB
