Has anyone ever been asked to suggest some activities for their child at nursery?

We had parents evening a couple of nights ago & dd1's key person there asked us to think of some activities she could do with her.

She's fairly good at recognising letters and numbers so we suggested maybe starting to teach her to write some of them down.

She's good with colours so thought maybe mixing colours to see what the outcome is

And something to do with road crossing as she's been a bit of a nightmare lately crossing roads with myself and dp.

Do they sound like alright things to have suggested?

How old is she? They sound totally OK to me, i hope her key person can work out something fun.

I'm amazed that they need ideas from you tbh - don't they do this stuff day in, day out?

I think it's good they want to do something the child likes, although I suppose they could have worked out by now the kind of things she likes. How long has she been there?

They're not after ideas really, it's about working in partnership with parents :/

She's 4 in January and has been there since September.

TBH, I'm not sure why they asked us, she's quite happy to join in with anything going. But I like the idea that they want to work with us, as her parents.

I didn't know if the writing one might have been something to wait with but she's getting very frustrated that she can't write things for herself so we'll see what the outcome is

Thanks for the reassurance, it's a bit daunting going to your first parents evening & being asked for ideas of things to do!

that's not your job, it should be the reverse!!!
I'm disgusted for my profession

They may ask what their favourite toy is to help with settling a new child e.g it can be helpful if you knowthey love trains because you can get the trainset out.
