Missing my new pre-schooler

My dd is 2yrs and 8 months old and just begun 3 mornings a week pre-school. I worked at preparing her, she visited a couple of times last term, taken photos of the staff and venue and we'd learned names fo staff .. She's tearful at goodbye and has become tired early so although she seems to be settling I've been collecting her early.
I've been wobbling about her being too young to be there but the pressure is to start in line with the academic year and 'there might not be a place in January if you delay..'. Anyway, another factor has come into play, despite my looking forward to some free time ( I also have an older child) to catch up on jobs etc.: I MISS HER! Anyone else feel like this?

Would it be a disaster if the were no place in January for her? What do you think she needs that she's not getting with you?

I'm not anti-childcare, in fact I'm a childminder but I don't always agree with putting children this age in pre-school. If there's a definite benefit like mum needing a break or time with a younger sibling that's fine but if you're missing her and she's missing you why send her?

There is a common belief that toddlers need to go to pre-school to socialise. They don't unless it is their only chance to see other children which is clearly not the case for your daughter.

Are you missing her because neither of you is ready for her to go?
