Does anyone have a solar charger?

saw one years ago on a zero waste video and finally have enough disposable income to invest (always the way, you need money to save money) so does anyone have any they could recommend please?
I am also thinking of buying my daughter a wind up camping light to use as a night light as I'm just sick of buying batteries for the rubbish little ones.

Any other ways i can save on electricity that I haven't thought of?
I heard solar panels aren't all they are cracked up to be but we don't have that kind of money anyway.

I did post in aibu but probably get a better response on here. I'm definitely worries about the price rises and am trying to mitigated that.
thanks

I use the Solar Garden lights as nightlights

solar lights seem to work all night from a charge on the windowsill. (when there was an eight legged beastie related incident.) (this is August though when 8 legged beasties are out and about trying to get into my bed mate)

was on minimum setting so enough light to see immediate surrounding s but not light up the room.

Solar charger is bloody slow.

I have solar panels on the roof - which power most of the needs of the house on a sunny day (I can run the dishwasher and washing machine on eco settings at different times, run 2 laptops and light setups for WFH and still be heating water in the tank with excess power). But they were a significant expense as part of our overall upgrading of the house (over the past 20 years, we've been slowly doing it up).

But I got a decathlon 3 panel solar charger last year for going camping, and use that relatively frequently to recharge a decent sized powerbank I have (recharges my ipad 3 times), DD's smaller powerbank (charges her phone at least twice from dead), and then will plug in my chargeable camping lanterns that I sometimes use around the house. I don't charge phones or ipads directly from it though as the current can fluctuate with sunlight levels which apparently is not so good for electronics - but fine for the powerbanks which can then do the electronics at a time of my choosing.

DSis has a 2 panel version of the same solar panel, and also finds it handy. Slow, but it works.

One of my camping lanterns is one that can be recharged or can be wound up, and would be ok for a small space - another decathlon one. But the larger lanterns (I think about €25 - also decathlon) have pretty decent light, are rechargeable, and would be good enough to use in a main room downstairs (we use it to light up a full-sized marquee tent on Cub camp and DH has "borrowed" it for the shed all winter).

We have a solar suitcase bought from Maplins many years ago, it outputs 20W at 12V in ideal conditions, but normal use is about half the wattage. We use it to charge our leaisure battery when we are camping and is a handy back up with an inverter in the event of a power cut at home.

In normal use it would take around 100 hours to create 1kwh of electricity, which would cost us 27p to buy from the grid.

If I could afford it we would be be all solar for the house but it is a big spend and takes decades to get your money back. Small panels are useful as a back up but not as a way of saving money.
