At the start of the winter season i always have a clear out of the medicine drawer and restock, i was interested in what others have prepped also.

I always have;
Boots own glycerin and blackcurrant cough syrup (tastes like neat ribena)
Tesco kids cherry flavour paracetamol
Nurofen strawberry ibuprofen for kids
Own brand lemsips for OH 🤮
Own brand paracetamol and ibuprofen
Own brand throat sweets (the numbing ones)

I also have usual assortment or thermometer, plasters etc but as I don't replace them ever year haven't listed them

In the kitchen cupboard i also stash away cherry drops, cheddars, butter puffs and cloudy lemonade.

Can you think of anything obvious i have missed to get us through winter cold and flu season?

Anusol - its a brilliant skin safe numbing cream that's not just for your bum. I get cracked skin from winter weather and hand washing, and just use a dab.
Clove oil for dental pain.
Pound shop Virasorb/acyclovir for cold sores because you never know when you might get your first one. Its also great for the cracked skin at the corners of your mouth.

Same as my summer first aid kit, but with the addition of lemsip and vick.

I've got most of the above plus stuff to make you go and stuff to stop you going! Plus re hydration sachets, which are useful after upset tums and hangovers (apparently). My Ibuprofen were missing from my monthly shop and so I am back to buying a packet whenever I enter a shop which sells them plus a packet of paracetamol too. Remember that 2 x packets of 16 just will not cut it if you have a family of 4 (old enough to take paracetamol tablets) and all come down with Covid/flu/a virus for a week and cannot get to the shops.

I also keep the above plus an ice pack (the type you squeeze/break to activate). My son plays rugby and quite often homes home with body parts that need some TLC. I am first aid trained and also keep triangular bandages, gauze pads, various dressings etc. Silver spray is brilliant to help quick wound healing.
