I wondered how other people are thinking about their brexit stockpile.
Here is mine so far. I also have a fridge freezer and another freezer in the house all with drawers. I have another fridge which is in my sons room if I needed the room.

My drawers are to be set out as :
One for dairy
One for fresh meat ( out of packets into freezer bags for extra room
One for bread products though I will have pre baked rolls which have a longer life
One for veggies
One for pre made food ( sausages etc )
One for homemade food. ie homemade pies etc.

In my head I have a timeline for about three weeks.
Is anyone willing to share a photo of their stash and tell me there set up and a rough timeline in their heads.
I don’t really have the room for much else. But I’m happy with the three weeks I have in my head.

Why 3 weeks?

I have just moved house so supplies are basically a week. I just installed some shelves and have a freezer coming on Thursday.

My dream is a year's worth of food, but I think I'll have to make do with 3 months? There are only 2 of us as well, so that should make it easier.

On the bread side - can you bake your own? That will save freezer space. I bake bread and want to have about 25kg of flour stored once we get our pantry in order Grin

Good selection there. Your pic has reminded me to get some crackers in! Also like the mini tortilla boats. Handy to have stuff like that and my kids will eat them for lunch if needed.

It is more space that is doing the three weeks more than anything else and money. I do always have huge stocks in my cupboards as we live in the middle of nowhere. So can always get to the shops. If I take everything into account ... dinner wise we could go for a month I would think. Would love to store more. But just don’t have the room.

Are you stocking up on medicine and toiletries?

What about tinned fruit?

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 02/09/2019 06:37

I have all what I would call normal
Medicine. But I have B12 injections and that worries me a bit. Turns out I was already a bit of a hoarder with bathroom stuff. Confused. Not sure why but I have ten tubes of toothpaste. I think my other half has been buying as well!!

Just did an add up. I can get 20 or just over if I’m good dinners just from the stash alone. Feel better now. That’s not including my well stocked larder and freezer .

Good for you @Dontgiveamonkeys1350
You've got your 3 weeks.
Don't forget to go through your normal cupboards & see if any of the odds & ends you have in there that you use are close to empty/out of date.
Things like condiments, misc herbs & spices or oils that can live in the cupboard for a long time - or baking things like cinnamon, mixed peel, vanilla pods/essence etc... if you bake much.

If you don't mind my asking, what is the stuff that looks like 3 packets of ravioli on the middle shelf & what is it's shelf life?

There is loads of room left on there. Just reorganise a bit.

I have no photos, it is all hidden away. I have not worked out how long I have stashed away.

When I have done a stocktake I will be able to work it out a bit more, although I don't know how long some things last for.

I am hoping to supplement what we have with stuff you can buy. It may take a while for me to adjust to the new prices and

work out what is a good deal.
