We are planning on being out of the country - from 23rd February until the end of June. Figure that will get the worst out of the way.

Probably not the answer you want on here, but I'm on this board doing some reading in case the worst isn't out of the way.

I am also planning on being abroad, probably heading out towards the 15th or 20th of March. I am not British and all my family is abroad so I would want to be near them, in case there are issues with flights, etc. No ticket booked yet though - waiting to see how things develop over the next few months.

Having said that, my cupboards are also very well stocked. Wink

Am also wondering whether I should transfer my savings to my Euro bank account but have not done anything about it yet.

We have made a big effort to clear the mortgage and generally lose as many overheads as possible. Increased garden planting. Building a good store cupboard of long life foods. Alternative cooking and heating arrangements. Water - installing a rainwater filter and storing bottles. Preemptive house repairs and optimisations.

Our business is already struggling, as contracts from EU clients are not being renewed, so we want to be financially prepared for total failure. Also import delays and shop shortages.

thanks for replys

im mortgage free and on ESA so overheads are low and dont have any debt

im confused as what may happen/effects but im guessing food stocks may run low if imported so thats something to think about

also will be having money to hand/will it effect banks??

im on quite a few meds and have read this could be effected but you cant really stockpile perscriptions

how do you see things being in short supply

i dont drive but use public transport,,so will that be effected??

I prep generally and have the ability to cook, light and heat without electricity. And know how to build and use a composting toilet . I have camping toilet facilities in short term.
Can collect and filter rain water.
To be honest, I don't expect calamity on day one. Instead just a slow economic decline. If I'm wrong, I have stuff. If I'm not, I've paid an extra years worth of mortgage.
