Positive Partosure test?!

I had a positive Partosure test which my hospital told me is 97% accurate and they transferred me to a hospital that has a specialist NICU just in case as I'm only 29 weeks tomorrow. I felt I was prepared that birth was likely, I'm having period type pains, lower back and leg ache and baby is very low down head down in pelvis. I arrived at this hospital last night who are a lot more blasé, saying it isn't even a test that they do here, known for being inaccurate etc nothings progressed in 3 days with my symptoms so they don't think birth is going to happen. I originally thought I'd had a fibronectin test and had read that they can be inaccurate so I relaxed a bit but then read up on Partosure and it seems to have a much higher accuracy and one of the trials I found online every person who had a positive result (albeit only 17 out of 341 women tested for a positive result, so it's a small sample size) but all of them had their baby within 14 days, 12 within 7 days. I tried to speak to the consultant who said he wasn't familiar with this test as they don't do it here but that they're all the same thing, again from what I'm reading this one isn't..

Obviously I hope they are right and baby hangs in there but I do want to be realistic?! Has anyone had any experience with this? Is it worth me taking it a bit more seriously and sorting out some premature baby bits, starting to get organised and having my husband do a hospital bag for the baby? Do I just take their word for it and relax? My heads all over the place

Hi OP, sorry I've not heard of this test so can't really comment. In the test where all the women gave birth within two weeks, how far along were they? If they were all at 36 weeks anyway, it's hardly surprising! And how many women that tested negative gave birth within two weeks?

I don't really have any advice, sorry. I think in your position I would get a hospital bag made up but would also try to stay positive and not assume the worst. I know it's hard though.

Crossing fingers baby stays put for you x

@doingitalllagain How are you? How did you get on? Wondering if you found any I really hope you had a positive outcome. Please don’t feel pressured to respond if you don’t want to. I’m going through the same thing, but at 21wks. Like you, I’m questioning the partosure accuracy and don’t think there nearly enough information out there about preterm rupture. We’re hanging in there a week past rupture and just hoping fir the best. Hoping for the best gif you too xx

I have recently (a week ago) had a positive partouse test and it’s freaked me out. I am 33 weeks and not ready to give birth yet.
