Pregnancy after premature birth and loss

Hello,

I am looking for some advice or seeking to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
I fell pregnant 8 years ago and it ended in miscarriage, a few years later I fell pregnant again and unfortunately it ended at 8 weeks due to an ectopic pregnancy.
I was lucky enough to fall pregnant again, I ended up having my daughter at 27 weeks weighing 1lb 12oz and she spent 3 months in NICU, I am very fortunate and lucky to eventually bring her home.
I am now thinking about expanding my family.
I would like to seek some medical advice / support before we start trying but even trying to get a doctors appointment is proving difficult as I am classed as a non emergency.
Has anyone been in this situation? I’d love to have another baby but I am fearful of what has happened previously will happen again.

I am wondering if there is any medication or vitamins etc that would like help me stay pregnant or help me carry a baby longer then 27 weeks or any clinics that I can approach.

Many thanks for reading 🙂

No advice OP, but I am wondering the same things. Do you know why your baby came early?

It ended up being a multitude of things mainly Pre eclampsia, I have a bicornuate uterus and a placenta insufficiency. Xx

I have issues with my uterus too, plus I had a low Papp-A and ended up with polyhydramnios, so like you, I think it was a whole host of reasons!

I seem to remember someone in SCBU suggesting that I had a review meeting with a consultant- maybe you could get in touch with your local ante natal and see if they can arrange something?

Oh- and I wouldn't even bother with the GP! You'll never get an appointment and even if you could, I suspect they'd refer you to a specialist.

I was referred back to my original consultant at the hospital at my request. He assessed that I was low risk.
I gave birth prematurely the second time around unfortunately at the time.
Those that I know who had a prem the first time it was a mix the second time. Some went to term and some were earlier. It is a worry.
