Hi ladies I live with my in laws and my younger BIL's go to school and I just brought my premmie home. Ofcourse they are off school at the minute but they go back in Feb. I can't leave just for that as it's my home too ? Am I exaggerating as people have kids who are school atm with a new born premmie too ?

Hi,

Do you mean in terms of you being worried about your BILs bringing illness home?

Home is where you make it, and this won’t be your home forever, surely, so why not try and move on now rather than later?

How early was your baby and are there any health issues? I feel for you I've had 2 premmies very early and they do tend to have compromised immune systems if born too early. However, according to our consultant (who is very experienced and works in a specialist hospital for premmies) has said the research shows babies and young child are not really at risk from Covid, even sick babies. However, he did say they are very prone to other respiratory illnesses such as bronchiolitis which can mean babies needing ventilation. It's not a good time for them to go to hospital needing this type of treatment for obvious reasons. If your child is likely to have a compromised immune system you should keep them away from any children who are going to school I think. Speak to your consultant, they can advise xx

You'll be ok, premmie mum's are made tough, if you need to keep your baby sheltered, you'll find a way. Good luck xx
