Premature birth due to cervical stitch advice?

Hi all,

I wanted to ask for some advice as well have a little moan, even if I get just a few responses I would be happy as I cannot seem to find much help or read any similar stories.
At my 20 week scan the eagle eyed sonographer found that my cervical was 7mm open and length of 18mm, long story short I was admitted and two days later had a cervical stitch and have been on daily progesterone pessaries (through the back door lol), I'm now 25 weeks and have bi-weekly scans and ffn test which is decreasing every time I have it! Anyone go through something similar with a good outcome to carrying near term? I'm just fed up of being told by Dr's that they don't think I'll go full term etc, they are wonderful and I'm so grateful for their input I just want some bloody hope! I'm sat in hospital now as I have been getting pink blood every time I wipe but apparently this is nothing to worry about and will be looked at tomorrow!
I'm scared and want to enjoy my pregnancy and buy clothes and stuff but I don't want to get my hopes up! I'm scared I'll deliver too early that something may be wrong with baby!
She is fine by the way it's just my stupid cervix, I feel let down.. any positive stories about premature babies born before 30 weeks or women with high risk pre term birth?
Sorry to rant on, I literally don't know who to ask xxx

Hi OP, I do have experience of having a stitch but my DS was born at 24 weeks after the stitch failed. The good news is that he’s now a loud, stinky 14 year old (what 14 year old boy isn’t loud and stinky?) but the bad is that we had a long journey through NICU and he does have disabilities as a result. He’s fabulous though and we are so very grateful to have him.

There have been huge advances in neonatal care over the past 14 years, so if your baby does arrive very early then they have scientific advances on their side. You said you were 25 weeks already, so further on than I was, and every day - even every hour - makes a difference. Good luck x

Nothing re stitch BUT. We got bad news at 20 week scan, quite severe IUGR. At 24 weeks it was really touch and go, we were told we'd be lucky to get to 28 weeks. She made it to 34 and is now 5 months old & doing well. Take one day at a time OP x
